5. Data Retention

Foldback is a collaborative platform where multiple users contribute to shared band records. Our data retention practices balance your privacy rights with the integrity of collaborative data.

5.1 While Your Account is Active

Your personal data (name, email, preferences) is retained to provide the Service
Band data you contribute is shared with other band members

5.2 When You Leave a Band

You lose access to the band immediately
Your name remains visible on records you created (events, expenses, attendance) for accounting purposes
The band owner can re-invite you at any time

5.3 When You Delete Your Account

We immediately delete:

Your login credentials and password hash
Your personal preferences and notification settings
Your device tokens (push notification registrations)
Your notifications

We anonymise:

Your name on band records becomes "Former Member"
Your email is removed from membership records

We retain (anonymised):

Band-level records (events, expenses, attendance) for accounting and audit integrity
This ensures other band members' financial records remain accurate

5.4 Legal Retention

Certain data may be retained longer where required by law or for legitimate business purposes (e.g., fraud prevention, dispute resolution)

Band Chat

Foldback Band Chat is a private messaging feature available to Premium and Pro bands.

Band Chat is disabled by default and may only be enabled by the Band Owner.
Messages are visible only to current members of the band and are retained to support app functionality, moderation, and operational continuity.
Users are responsible for content they share within Band Chat.
Foldback may remove content or restrict access where necessary to enforce platform policies or legal obligations.
Push notifications may include message previews depending on user notification settings.
Messages are stored and linked to user accounts. Messages are not publicly visible and are not sold or shared for advertising purposes.

6. User Rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights to:

Access your personal data
Request correction of inaccurate information
Request deletion of personal data
Withdraw consent where applicable

6.1 How to Delete Your Account

You can delete your account at any time from within the Foldback app:

Open the user menu (tap your profile)
Select "Account"
Select "Delete Account"
Type "Confirm" and confirm deletion
